- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup zesty tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup assorted vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms)
- 1 teaspoon Italian herbs
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until smooth.
- Prepare your toppings by chopping the vegetables and shredding the mozzarella cheese.
- Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface, then transfer it to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread zesty tomato sauce on the dough, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and add the vegetable toppings.
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) and bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Notes
- Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes for a crispy texture.
- For a healthier option, use whole grain flour and load up on veggies.
- Experiment with different cheeses for a unique flavor profile.
- You can freeze baked pizza for up to 2 months; bake directly from frozen when ready to eat.
