Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups of whole milk
- 1 cup of plain yogurt (store-bought Yoplait preferred)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Optional: Sweetener to taste (honey, sugar, or agave)
Instructions
- Begin by pouring the whole milk into a heavy-bottomed saucepan and heat it gently over medium heat to about 180°F (82°C).
- Remove the milk from heat and let it cool to about 110°F (43°C), whisk in the plain yogurt and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- Transfer the mixture into clean glass jars, cover with lids or plastic wrap, and place in a warm environment for 6-8 hours.
- After fermentation, refrigerate the jars. Once chilled, your homemade Yoplait yogurt is ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to a week.
- Avoid adding sweeteners until ready to serve for best flavor preservation.
- Experiment with different types of milk for varied texture.
