Turkey Lettuce Wraps are a light, healthy, and delicious alternative to traditional sandwiches or tacos. These wraps feature seasoned ground turkey and crisp lettuce, making them perfect for a quick meal or healthy appetizer.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 head of lettuce (butter lettuce or romaine lettuce)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, celery, bell peppers), diced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or coconut aminos for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Optional: chopped green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by dicing the onion, mincing the garlic, and dicing the mixed vegetables.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook until no longer pink, draining excess grease.
  3. Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until onion is translucent. Then mix in the mixed vegetables and cook until slightly softened.
  4. Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil, stirring to combine. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  5. Assemble wraps by spooning the turkey mixture into lettuce leaves. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and sriracha if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, include red pepper flakes or hot sauce in the turkey mixture.
  • Sweeten the sauce with honey or maple syrup if preferred.
  • Try different vegetables like mushrooms or zucchini for variety.
  • Add chopped water chestnuts or peanuts for crunch.
  • Mix up the lettuce types for different textures.
  • Substitute ground turkey with crumbled tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian option.
