Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 head of lettuce (butter lettuce or romaine lettuce)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, celery, bell peppers), diced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or coconut aminos for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Optional: chopped green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients by dicing the onion, mincing the garlic, and dicing the mixed vegetables.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook until no longer pink, draining excess grease.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until onion is translucent. Then mix in the mixed vegetables and cook until slightly softened.
- Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil, stirring to combine. Cook until the sauce thickens.
- Assemble wraps by spooning the turkey mixture into lettuce leaves. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and sriracha if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, include red pepper flakes or hot sauce in the turkey mixture.
- Sweeten the sauce with honey or maple syrup if preferred.
- Try different vegetables like mushrooms or zucchini for variety.
- Add chopped water chestnuts or peanuts for crunch.
- Mix up the lettuce types for different textures.
- Substitute ground turkey with crumbled tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian option.
