- 1 pound turkey gizzards
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 bay leaf
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the turkey gizzards under cold water. Place them in a pot and cover with water. Boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 30-40 minutes until tender.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent and fragrant.
- Add the boiled turkey gizzards and reserved broth to the skillet. Season with paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 20 minutes to meld flavors.
- Add a bay leaf and let simmer for 10 minutes on low heat. Remove from heat, discard bay leaf, and serve hot.
Notes
- Serve gizzards over rice or with sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
- Garnish with chopped parsley for added color and freshness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; freeze for up to 2 months.
