Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
- Oil for frying
- For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the apples by peeling and dicing them into small chunks. Toss with cinnamon and a sprinkle of sugar, setting aside.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla. Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients, then fold in the apple mixture.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over the warm fritters before serving.
Notes
- Store leftover fritters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
- For longer storage, freeze the fritters without glaze and reheat when ready to enjoy.
- Enhance serving with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce.
