Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- Extra sugar for sprinkling on top (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the strawberries by washing and chopping them to infuse their natural sweetness into the dough.
- Combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, mix together the cold cubed butter and milk without overmixing; the mixture should remain slightly lumpy.
- Incorporate the wet mixture into the dry mixture, gently folding in the chopped strawberries. Drop scoops of the dough onto a baking sheet and sprinkle extra sugar on top if desired. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Store strawberry biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
- Freezing biscuits is an option; use a freezer-safe bag and consume within two months.
- Thaw and reheat in the oven to enjoy them fresh-baked again.
