Ingredients
Scale
- 4 to 5 large ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat all the peaches evenly.
- Spread the peach mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and optional spices.
- Pour in the milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined. The batter should be slightly thick but pourable.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peach filling. Do not stir; allow the batter to layer over the fruit.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the batter comes out clean.
Notes
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for added indulgence.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in microwave or oven. For longer storage, freeze wrapped in plastic wrap and aluminum foil.
