- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Wood chips for smoking (hickory or applewood recommended)
Instructions
- Wash and pat the smoked turkey tails dry. Season with seasoning blend, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) and add wood chips. Smoke the turkey tails for 3 to 4 hours until they reach 165°F (74°C).
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure tenderness and smoky color.
- Remove the tails from the smoker, let them rest for a few minutes, then serve on a platter with sides.
Notes
- For storage, keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for 3 months.
- Serve with cornbread, coleslaw, or use in tacos and sandwiches.
