Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium-sized potatoes
- 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- Your favorite dipping sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by peeling and dicing the potatoes into small, uniform pieces. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced potatoes, grated cheese, parsley, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until every piece of potato is coated with the seasoning.
- Next, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, carefully add in the seasoned potato mixture and blanch for about 5-7 minutes.
- After blanching, drain the potatoes well and let them cool down slightly. In a deep skillet or fryer, heat oil to approximately 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the blanched potato pieces to the hot oil and fry them until they turn a beautiful golden brown, usually about 4-5 minutes. Once done, drain them on paper towels.
- Finally, arrange your crispy savory potato bites on a serving platter and serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- To store leftover potato bites, allow them to cool completely and transfer them to an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
- For longer storage, consider freezing the bites before frying; ensure thorough cooking upon reheating.
- These potato bites can be made ahead of time by preparing the mixture and refrigerating until ready to cook.
- For a lighter version, you can bake these potato bites at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes instead of frying.
