- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup bell peppers, chopped
- 1 cup onions, chopped
- 2 cups provolone cheese, shredded
- 1 loaf of Italian or French bread
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped bell peppers and onions, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until tender.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and season as needed.
- Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese on top of the meat mixture and allow it to melt.
- Slice the bread down the center without cutting through, and stuff the melted cheese and beef mixture into the bread.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet, cover with foil, and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- For long-term storage, wrap in aluminum foil and freeze for up to a month.
- For reheating, wrap in foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes.
