- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 slices of cheese (provolone or Swiss recommended)
- 4 sandwich buns (submarine or hoagie rolls)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: additional toppings such as jalapeños or pickles
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add seasoned beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Add sliced onions and sauté until translucent and caramelized, about 4 minutes.
- Slice open sandwich buns and optionally toast them.
- Assemble the sandwich with beef and onions on the bun, topped with cheese and any desired toppings.
- Grill assembled sandwiches on a panini maker or skillet for 3-4 minutes per side until crispy and cheese melts.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat using a skillet on low to avoid making the sandwiches chewy.
- Pair with crispy fries, salad, or coleslaw for an enhanced meal experience.
