Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs of beef (flank steak or sirloin tip)
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Instructions
- Prepare your beef by selecting flank steak or sirloin and trimming excess fat.
- Slice the beef into thin strips of 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick, ensuring even thickness for drying.
- Marinate the beef strips in a bowl with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Dehydrate the marinated beef strips on your dehydrator tray for 6 to 8 hours at 160°F (70°C) until they reach your desired texture.
Notes
- Store the jerky in an airtight container or vacuum-sealed bag to maintain freshness.
- For longer preservation, keep jerky in the refrigerator for up to 1 month or freeze for 6 months.
- You can experiment with different meats like turkey, chicken, or pork for variety in flavors.
