  • Total Time: 6 hours 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 to 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs of beef (flank steak or sirloin tip)
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your beef by selecting flank steak or sirloin and trimming excess fat.
  2. Slice the beef into thin strips of 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick, ensuring even thickness for drying.
  3. Marinate the beef strips in a bowl with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Dehydrate the marinated beef strips on your dehydrator tray for 6 to 8 hours at 160°F (70°C) until they reach your desired texture.

Notes

  • Store the jerky in an airtight container or vacuum-sealed bag to maintain freshness.
  • For longer preservation, keep jerky in the refrigerator for up to 1 month or freeze for 6 months.
  • You can experiment with different meats like turkey, chicken, or pork for variety in flavors.
