- 1 pound fresh spinach
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the fresh spinach thoroughly, and chop it if necessary.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add heavy cream to the skillet and simmer until slightly thickened, then stir in Parmesan, salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using.
- Add the prepared spinach to the creamy base, stirring until wilted and well incorporated.
Notes
- Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave before serving.
- Pairs wonderfully with steak, grilled chicken, or baked fish.
