Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into strips
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar (optional)
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Start by cutting your chicken into thin strips. Toss in a little cornstarch or flour for extra crispiness, if desired.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken strips and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Turn occasionally for even browning.
- In a small bowl, combine sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, fresh ginger, and rice vinegar. Stir well to create the flavorful glaze.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Toss to coat evenly. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the chicken.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal. Garnish with additional sides if desired.
Notes
- Use thinly sliced chicken for quicker cooking and better sauce absorption.
- Adjust spice level by adding more or less sweet chili sauce.
- For extra crispy chicken, bake or air fry before tossing in sauce.
- Marinate chicken in soy sauce and garlic beforehand for enhanced flavor.
