Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- Chili flakes (optional for heat)
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
- Cooked rice or steamed vegetables, for serving
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and ensure the ground beef is thawed. Mince garlic, finely chop the onion, and grate the ginger.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil, then sauté garlic, onion, and ginger until fragrant and slightly translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook thoroughly until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and chili flakes if desired. Mix well and simmer for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately over hot steamed rice or vegetables.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave. Flavors deepen over time, enhancing taste.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of gochujang or sesame seeds during cooking. Incorporate vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for added nutrition and texture.
