Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Cooked egg noodles or rice, for serving
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and have them ready to streamline the cooking process.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the diced onions and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking until the mushrooms are browned, about 5 minutes. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking until browned and cooked through, about 7 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir well, scraping the bottom of the pan to deglaze. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in the sour cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
- Serve hot over cooked egg noodles or rice. Enjoy your delicious Ground Beef Stroganoff!
Notes
- Use high-quality sour cream for a creamy, tangy flavor.
- For a thicker sauce, simmer longer until desired consistency is achieved.
- Top with chopped fresh parsley or grated Parmesan for added flavor and presentation.
