Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup fresh tomatoes, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- Optional: pepperoni slices, bell peppers, onions, etc.
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast, and let rest for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix flour and salt, then create a well in the center to add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms, and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Once the dough has risen for about 1 hour, preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle. Place on a greased baking sheet and spread pizza sauce evenly.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add desired toppings like fresh tomatoes and basil.
- Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Remove, let cool slightly, slice, and serve hot.
