Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm water
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your choice of pizza toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.)
- Olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the warm water, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough and roll it out to your desired shape.
- Spread a layer of tomato sauce over the dough, leaving space at the edges for the crust.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce and add your toppings.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Notes
- For a more authentic experience, consider using a pizza stone or a brick oven.
- Store any leftovers tightly wrapped in plastic wrap or an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for 2 months.
- Pair with an Italian salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
