- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In another bowl, mix flour and salt; gradually add the yeast mixture and olive oil, forming a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise for about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough into your desired shape and transfer it to a pizza peel or baking sheet.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving space at the edges for the crust.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce; add your favorite toppings.
- Carefully slide the pizza into the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, slice, and serve hot!
Notes
- Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven for the best texture or use the microwave for convenience.
- Pair with a salad or dipping sauce for a complete meal.
