Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, instant yeast, and granulated sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually incorporate the flour until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use a donut cutter to shape the donuts.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the donuts until golden brown on each side. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- For best results, enjoy the donuts fresh.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month.
- Consider drizzling chocolate or caramel sauce on top for extra flavor.
