- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 whole wheat pita bread
- Fresh cucumbers, sliced
- Cherry tomatoes, halved
- Red onion, thinly sliced
- Fresh parsley, chopped
For the Creamy Feta Tzatziki
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 cucumber, grated and drained
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium heat. Mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Rub mixture over chicken breasts. Grill or sauté for 6-8 minutes per side until fully cooked. Let rest, then slice into thin strips.
- Prepare Tzatziki: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, crumbled feta, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well and chill for 20 minutes if desired.
- Warm whole wheat pita bread. Spread Tzatziki inside each pita. Add sliced chicken, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and parsley. Roll tightly to form gyros.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add olives or extra feta on top before serving.
- Leftover chicken and Tzatziki can be stored separately in airtight containers for up to 2 days.
- Reheat chicken gently before assembling for best taste and texture.
