  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat pita bread
  • Fresh cucumbers, sliced
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

For the Creamy Feta Tzatziki

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or skillet over medium heat. Mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Rub mixture over chicken breasts. Grill or sauté for 6-8 minutes per side until fully cooked. Let rest, then slice into thin strips.
  2. Prepare Tzatziki: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, crumbled feta, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well and chill for 20 minutes if desired.
  3. Warm whole wheat pita bread. Spread Tzatziki inside each pita. Add sliced chicken, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and parsley. Roll tightly to form gyros.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add olives or extra feta on top before serving.
  • Leftover chicken and Tzatziki can be stored separately in airtight containers for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat chicken gently before assembling for best taste and texture.
