i made this and it was AMAZING! just a few slight modifications. a bit of honey garlic sausage and extra lean ground beef. instead of shortening, used butter — it resulted in butter pooling in liquid form at the bottom of the pan, so next time i'll use less, but crust and everything inside was amazing!

when i was 8 i was being told by practicly evryone i was gaining wieght , i thought it was normal at the time but i (now looking back on it) had anorexia , but being 8 , i crashed and binged every day for about 2 years but when summer of 2014 hit i went back to my old ways , but this time it was worse , luckly that also crashed when my family started to notice (became vegetarian summer of 2015 yes , i ate all nutrients needed) , i started to lose weight the heathly way but then i got a injury and was unable to leave a recliner for 2.5 weeks , i gained all the weight back and with the stress of everything going on in my life my weight got to a huge number of 200 (5"4 it was all fat not mucsle) , now after being that weight for to long im sick and tired of it , i am now working on losing it the heathy way , eating less ubserd amounts of suger and i dont have a binging when bord problem anymore , and less junk food , mixed with alot of walking and easy exercises , im starting to notice the difference, im feeling really proud of my self i have a long way to go but im getting there , btw still a vegetarian , feel great , no cravings for 1.9 years! sorry for my spelling π
It's a giant meat pie not a pasty! Cornwall is where the original pasty comes from but in Wales they call theirs an 'oggie'.Β It's a half moon shape with crinkled edge which was used by coal miners to hold with their dirty hands so they could then throw that bit away.

Just curious if you've ever tried this using a whole wheat pastry flour? Regular whole wheat would be too dense and chewy (not the flaky crusts pasties are know for…I know, we've got family in the upper peninsula of Michigan we're they are a food category of their own π). But whole wheat pastry flour is supposed to yield lighter, flakier results more like regular flour I believe. Great recipe!
