Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture, then stir to combine.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
- Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the rolls rise for another 15 minutes. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven, brush with additional melted butter if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Ensure the milk is warm but not hot to activate the yeast properly.
- You can add cinnamon or raisins for extra flavor.
