Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made tart crust or homemade pastry crust
- 1 cup fresh figs, sliced
- 3 tablespoons honey (preferably local or raw)
- 1/2 cup roasted pistachios, chopped
- 1/4 cup mascarpone or cream cheese (optional for a creamier filling)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the tart crust: Use store-bought or homemade pastry dough and blind bake at 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) for about 15 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Allow the crust to cool completely before assembling.
- If desired, spread a thin layer of mascarpone or cream cheese over the cooled crust to add richness.
- Arrange the sliced figs evenly over the filling.
- Generously drizzle honey over the figs, ensuring each slice gets a touch of sweetness and shine.
- Sprinkle the chopped roasted pistachios over the top for added crunch and nutty flavor.
- Refrigerate the tart for at least 30 minutes to set and chill.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a light dusting of powdered sugar just before serving.
Notes
- For a vegan version, substitute dairy ingredients with plant-based alternatives and use agave nectar instead of honey.
- Dried figs can be used if rehydrated in warm water for 10 minutes, but fresh figs offer the best flavor and texture.
- This tart can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, best enjoyed within 24 hours for optimal freshness.
