- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4β6 lemons)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest

- 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Begin by washing and preparing your fresh cherries and lemons. Halve the cherries and extract the juice from the lemons.
- In a medium bowl, combine the chopped cherries, lemon juice, sugar, cornstarch, lemon zest, and salt. Mix thoroughly until well coated.
- Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Pour the cherry-lemon mixture into the prepared pie crust and dot with butter.
- Bake the pie in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
Notes
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, covering loosely with plastic wrap.
- Can be frozen for long-term storage; best enjoyed fresh.
