Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, thyme)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides, then transfer to a baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion until translucent. Sprinkle flour, cook for 1 minute, then add beef broth. Stir until thickened, then add meatballs back into the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with butter, milk, minced garlic, and herbs.
  5. Serve meatballs with gravy alongside creamy mashed potatoes garnish with fresh herbs.

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture.
