Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional: chocolate chips or nuts for added flavor
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until a dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between them. Optionally, flatten them slightly with the back of a spoon.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
