Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for mix-in)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Whisk until sugar is dissolved.
- Melt the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl until smooth, then let cool slightly.
- Mix the melted chocolate into the cream mixture along with vanilla extract and salt. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Fold in chocolate chips once the ice cream has reached soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours. Serve with toppings of your choice!
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the freezer for 2-3 weeks for optimal freshness.
- If the ice cream hardens too much, allow it to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
