Ingredients
Scale
- 400g spaghetti
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
- Red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sautรฉ for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing gently to coat evenly with the creamy garlic parmesan sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- Ensure your Parmesan cheese is freshly grated for the best flavor and meltability.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of pasta water to loosen it.
- For a richer flavor, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or mascarpone.
- Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
