- 1 cup fresh fiddleheads
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup brewed dark roast coffee
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- Milk or cream to taste
- Garnishes: whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or herbs
Instructions
- Rinse the fiddleheads thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Trim off any tough stems.
- In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add the fiddleheads. Steam them for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
- Place the steamed fiddleheads in a blender along with 1 cup of brewed coffee and blend until smooth.
- Pour the blended fiddleheads coffee into a cup, sweeten with sugar or milk/cream, and garnish as desired.
Notes
- Store leftover prepared fiddleheads in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Brewed coffee can be kept in the fridge for 2-3 days, but keep it separate from the fiddleheads.
