Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, combine grated Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution of flavor.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs until well combined. This will help the coating adhere to the chicken.
- Dip each chicken breast into the egg wash, ensuring itβs fully coated. Then, dredge it in the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere well. Repeat with all chicken breasts.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil or melted butter. Once hot, add the coated chicken breasts. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165Β°F). Alternatively, bake at 400Β°F for 20-25 minutes until crispy and cooked through. You can also use an air fryer for healthier crispiness.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like parsley or basil to the breadcrumb mixture.
- To keep the chicken crispy after baking, reheat in oven or air fryer.
- Use chicken thighs if preferred, adjusting cooking time accordingly.
