Ingredients
Scale
- 4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a touch of heat)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) or prepare your grill for medium heat. Rinse and pat dry the salmon fillets, then season with salt and black pepper.
- In a small saucepan, combine bourbon, maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Whisk and then simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Prepare a baking sheet (or grill) and place salmon fillets, skin-side down if applicable. Generously brush with bourbon maple glaze.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or grill for 4-6 minutes per side until salmon flakes easily. Brush with more glaze during the last few minutes if grilling.
Notes
- Marinate salmon in the glaze for 30 minutes for deeper flavor.
- For a non-alcoholic version, substitute bourbon with apple juice or chicken broth.
- Lightly oil grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to taste for desired spice level.
- Ensure the glaze has a thick consistency for optimal coating.
