  • Total Time: 4-6 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of thick-cut bacon
  • 1 pound of beef (flank steak or sirloin works best)
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bacon by slicing it into strips about 2-3 inches long.
  2. Make the marinade by mixing soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika in a bowl.
  3. Marinate the bacon by placing it in a ziplock bag with the marinade and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Dehydrate the marinated bacon on a dehydrator tray at 160°F (70°C) for 4-6 hours until it is crispy and dry.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can substitute turkey bacon.
  • This jerky can last up to 2 weeks at room temperature or 1 month in the refrigerator.
  • You can use an oven by placing bacon strips on a baking sheet at the lowest setting with the door slightly ajar.
