OOO now I know what i'll do with my pumpkin leaves! Here in the US, we just discard them-especially when pruning the smaller leaves on secondary vines… I always felt it was just a waste!
Yes that probably is wild coriander because my mum used to ask independent sellers in the local areas in South India for it and never used "coriander" she used something like "naati" before coriander which could mean wild 🙂
I would love to visit this place. What an amazing sight! Thank you for sharing Mark. For our Hmong people- you will always have a home, some cooked family food, and especially the hospitality of lunch to take with you on your travel.
I love how simple fresh food can taste so good. That herb she used is mature stage of Coriander before the seed harden. It’s one of my favorite herbs to grow. I love using the dried seeds like peppercorn too! Love your new channel Mark!
Now THAT is some quality cilantro/coriander. I wish the West would get over eating those poor excuse for cilantro sprouts and let cilantro mature so that it becomes more flavorful like what you had in this video.
Really enjoyed watching this because I am Hmong and these were vegetables and dishes we grew up eating! Thank you for sharing this. I can't wait to visit villages like these!
Wow, just came across your video. Love your video! It's great to see your appreciation for Hmong food and farming. This is what my mom cooks. She loves the coriander and pumpkin tips.

Also, in your chilles is the coriander with chilles only.
Yes, that herb that has the coriander that's getting old going to turn into seed. The last stage of it. ( in America we call it cilantro)
That would be heaven for my mom who eats only leafy green vegetables.
Pumpkin tips creamed with coconut, my favorite. The pacific island way.
I'm very happy that these Hmong treated Mark with hospitality and kindness. I guess it's just my Hmong family over all that are bad people.
