I love how you address here a psychological element to going healthy. It can be a really hard shift to make, going from eating everything that is"normal" like oreos and swiss rolls, to emotionally embracing a delicious chocolate peanut butter smoothie and really finding full satisfaction in it. Any more tips on how to do this?
Thank you for your encouragement and the heart you bring to your videos. ❤
I’d like to know what the deal is with sour dough bread. Fermented stuff is wonderful for us, but is sour dough bread any different than the bread I make with all purpose flour and yeast?
I’m pregnant right now and I am struggling with my food choices so much. All my body wants right now is easy not so great for me food. I’m really struggling keeping my healthy balance. These smoothies seem like a great option for me.
Hi Alyssia! I just read your blog posts on anti-inflammatory foods. I am currently suffering from two things: a rapid onset of eye inflammation and doctor appointments, one after another it seems, with no answers as to how to fix it. I figure the ONE thing I can do while waiting on a doctor who can help to come my way is to combat the inflammation with food. But…as you mention in the post – it is so overwhelming! I have definitely been doing my research and collecting recipes. Turmeric, turmeric, turmeric! I put it on everything! But I am struggling with the "big picture view" of this and was hoping you could perhaps consider creating some videos that offer ideas for variety of anti-inflammatory meals and snacks all day? I'm basically eating eggs for breakfast, chicken and spinach for lunch, and more chicken or salmon with cauli rice for dinner. Snacks for me are nuts, homemade trail mix, and apples. I'm wondering if I can ever make muffins again, lol. I just am looking for as many ideas as I can to make this endeavor easier. Thank you for what you do. I might be overwhelmed, but your videos also have me excited about taking this on. 🙂
Great smoothie ideas! Just one small comment. Coconut is not a healthy fat source. Nothing wrong with occasional use, but it is very high in saturated fat. Avocado and nuts, on the other hand, are heart healthy fats. I only point this out, because I am a pediatric dietitian, who does a lot of education on lipid management. I have to reeducate alot of families who read that coconut is a heart healthy fat. I also recommend to get the natural peanut butter, if it is eaten frequently, because it doesn't have the partially hydrogenated fat in it that most brands do.
My toddler absolutely loves smoothies! So fun especially when you add a straw. Why didn’t I think of freezing avocado to add to smoothies? Such a great idea! My toddler loves peanut butter and banana smoothies and of course strawberry! Thanks for the inspiration
